ABOUT THE IMAGE:
A male brook trout expels air from its gill in a small Montana creek. While waiting for brown trout to come to a redd, this feisty little brook trout swam up the shallow side channel and strutted his stuff in front of my waiting camera. “Hambone” is an underwater photograph of a brightly colored male brook trout in a clear mountain lake in autumn.
