Day 334 - Cutthroat On The Hunt

A Rock Creek Cutthroat Trout pauses in slack water, surveying the scene for hatching Western March Browns.

Just outside of the fast water, the cutthroat knows the swift current pushes the newly hatched mayflies into the soft water.

Here it waits for its afternoon meal.
