Day 298 - Snacking On The Surface

Notch, the rainbow trout, grabs a tiny morsel from the surface on a warm March day.

Perhaps it was a mayfly, such as a Blue Winged Olive. Or maybe a nemora stonefly.

In March on Rock Creek, the surface activity is slow but not non-existent under the right conditions.
