Day 23 – 356 Days of Trout

Day 23 - Gravel Sweeper

A trout's tail is an instrumental part of its body. Their caudal fin propels them with fast and near-instantaneous speed when threatened.

Females use their tails to clean gravel to create a redd or spawning bed.

But for me, I love this view of trout. Long and lovely, the caudal fin sways slowly, holding the trout in place. So graceful!
