Day 13 – 356 Days of Trout

“Day 13 - Youngsters of Overlook Pool”

4 species of young trout live in harmony in the small yet deep pool in a side channel.

Here, cutthroat, browns, rainbows, and brook trout swim and feed, protected from larger fish and predators.

They spend their young years here, trapped 10 months of the year due to log jams and beaver dams. Only the spring floods can release them from Overlook Pool.
