ABOUT THE IMAGE: “Buttery Rainbows” is an underwater photograph of rainbow trout in a Montana mountain lake.

People look different. And so do trout.

These rainbows possess hints of cutthroats, while others swimming near are more fuschia in coloration.

Montana FWP stocks this body of water, so perhaps the difference is due to their fry source.
