ABOUT THE IMAGE: “Brook Trout Parade” is an underwater photograph of brook trout in a Montana mountain lake.

I have noticed that trout follow a swim pattern in still water.  They swim in large ovals, repeating the pattern numerous times, often in a small group. With patience, the right fly, and proper fly placement a few seconds ahead of the approaching fish, a strike is nearly guaranteed.
